The serial port (a.k.a. COM-port, or RS232) is slowly disappearing from desktop and laptop computers, but it's still a very important tool for embedded engineers and people controlling equipment in general. The reason for this is that the serial port is very simple to set-up and use both from embedded software code (the vast majority of MCUs and controllers have UART ports) and from a PC.
The feature set of the CM-X255 module combines a 32-bit CPU, SDRAM, Flash Disk and vital computing peripherals. For embedded applications, the CM-X255 provides a 32-bit PCI bus, 100Mbit Ethernet, serial ports, general purpose I/O lines and many other essential functions.
XP-8000 is dedicated for industrial control. XP-8000 is the new ICP DAS generation Programmable Automation Controller. It equips an AMD LX 800 CPU (500 MHz) running a Windows Embedded Standard 2009 operating system, variant connectivity (VGA, USB, Ethernet, RS-232/RS-485) and 3/7 slots for high performance parallel I/O modules (high profile I-8K series) and serial-type I/O modules (high profile I-87K I/O modules).
Windows® Embedded Standard 2009 Studio comes with all of the development tools needed to design, create, build and deploy your project. Target Designer for Windows® Embedded Standard 2009 is an integrated development environment (IDE) for building customized embedded operating system designs. With the Component Designer, you can easily create your own components (Application and Drivers) and import normal XP Professional Drivers to create a Windows® Embedded Standard 2009 component. You manage with the Database Manager all the components in the SQL Server running in the background for Windows® Embedded Standard 2009. 2b1af7f3a8
